"But, it was kind of a time for me to be with my mom. And for her, movies; she was an usherette in a theater in Liverpool. I always thought she'd wear this little uniform, and she had her hair, and she had a little beret. And she would sell ice cream at intermission as well as cigarettes, and all the rest of it. She was always going up to the balcony and they couldn't find her. That was her escape. It became my escape too."

Needles 01:23
Everything in the street today seems soft focus. This farm may be cold but it's warmer than needles.

Now, what'dyas want to know? I'm gonna pose like a son of a bitch. Show my teeth. - Not controlling self. I want to go to work and do the right thing. - We were drinking. We got into trouble. He fell or got stabbed. I'll never know. I certainly did not mean to kill him. - They said they wanted to run tests on us. We were sent here. Got disease from husband. Don't consider it a downfall. - He would get drunk and bring men home with him. He would sober up and accuse me of being intimate with these men. At the time of this last trouble he beat and choked me. So I did a dreadful thing. I shot him. - I'm not repressed anymore kid. I'm not inhibited. But I'm not an extrovert either. I know when to shut up and listen to people who know. *Can you now?* I certainly can. I can maintain silence here for the rest of the time and you talk. I asked you to, go ahead. *Now let's see if you can keep quiet for a few moments.* Mhm.

about

Needles Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjC7MYYlMNc

Far From The Farm was constructed over the course of about fourteen months. I worked on it when it felt right and when I had ideas that I thought were worth while. A lot of things changed during those fourteen months; started and ended a relationship, the death of two desktop computers, going from employed by family to unemployed to employed at a local location of a large corporation, more than a couple sinks back into deep depressions, Unfortunate news about family, and the list goes on... All I mean to say is that Far From The Farm was made during uneasy and tumultuous times and that had a direct influence on it. On another (sort of related) note, this release references older work not just in production but in samples as well. Pitched down and slowed down voices, a track from the first TUA release is sampled, the methods I used to make these recordings is nearly identical to previous releases. I knew that after this release I'd be taking a hiatus from audio projects. The reversed audio on a lot of tracks leans toward referencing a return to the beginning, a fresh start of sorts. A way to move on to greener pastures. That's what Far From The Farm was originally about, I wanted to make something out of the vein I've made before. I wanted to leave the farm and put roots down in new places. It seems like this release became a sort of bridge between focus on audio projects and focus on other mediums I think I have more to say with. I know that I've exhausted the value I have to offer when it comes to audio projects, at least for the time being.
